YK Communications of Ganado, Texas is honored to receive the Philanthropy Award for 2022 at The CrowdFiber Open. The annual networking and training conference was held in September in Lake Lanier Island, GA. Attendees from across the country joined the conference and participated in training and networking with others in the telecommunications field.
CrowdFiber is web-based software designed to identify demand for fiber internet services and help launch fiber internet. YK Communications has partnered with CrowdFiber to expand fiber internet access across its service area, allowing for faster internet speeds and increased product support.
“It was very well earned,” said Vice President of CrowdFiber Bailey White. “CrowdFiber was pleased to award Best Philanthropy this year to member YKC. Even with many of our members being cooperatives that have a tremendous community impact, we continue to see YKC go the extra mile with the communities it serves, focusing on their health and welfare.”
He went on to explain that the service provider’s storm responses help their competitors as well as themselves. “[Their] impact is not just local as the company plays a leadership role in telecommunications organizations nationwide,” Bailey continued. “Congratulations and thank you, YKC!”
Most recently, YK Communications and The Young Family Foundation announced the 2022 grant recipients. Local organizations receiving support include Ganado High School Band, Louise ISD Foundation Board, Danish Heritage Preservation Society, Markham Volunteer Fire Department, and City of El Campo Kid Fish.
