YK Communications, a leading provider of broadband internet, voice, and security services, is proud to announce that three of its technicians were recognized at the State Capitol in Austin for their exceptional performance during the COVID-19 pandemic and Winter Storm Uri. The technicians were honored during the Rural Broadband Day, which took place on February 28th.

YK Communications’ technicians Manuel Gonzalez, Robert Kollaja, and Sergio Lara were among the many individuals recognized by the Texas Telephone Association (TTA) during Rural Broadband Day. Bill Rakowitz, YK Communications VP of Regulatory & Compliance, was also present to support the technicians and the company’s commitment to providing exceptional service, against all odds. TTA coordinated visits with key offices and designated teams of TTA members to stop by those offices to discuss the important issues facing rural telecom.

On this special occasion, a resolution was read in the House and Senate to recognize the companies and especially the technicians who stayed in the field during COVID and the Winter Storm, ensuring that Rural Texas stayed connected. YK Communications’ technicians were recognized for their commitment to the company and its customers.

“We are very proud of our technicians who worked tirelessly during the COVID pandemic and the Winter Storm to keep our customers connected,” said Russell Kacer, President of YK Communications. “Their dedication and hard work are a testament to our company’s commitment to providing exceptional service, even in challenging times.”
