El Campo Fiber Expansion Includes Highway 71 South from Highway 59 to the community of Danevang
YK Communications has announced that Phase 3 of the El Campo fiber project is now underway and is on schedule for completion by the end of 2018.
Phase 3 includes Highway 71 South from Highway 59 to the community of Danevang, and customers in this new service area can expect to be installed as early as September
2018.
“Not only will YK Communications be able to connect homes and businesses along Highway 71 to fiber, but this will allow us to tap into other areas of our network and
provide a more robust connection for all of our El Campo customers,” commented Russell Kacer, President.
After identifying a need in 2015 for faster and more reliable broadband services in the area, YK Communications made the decision to begin construction of the new El Campo fiber optic network. This network allows for 100x the bandwidth of a copper infrastructure, resulting in local homeowners and businesses having access to much faster internet speeds.
Phase 1 of the project brought coverage to businesses along the West Loop from Legacy Fields to El Campo Middle School and Business 59/Jackson Street as far north as City Hall. The recently completed Phase 2 included areas along Mechanic Street from Bucee’s to Greek Bros.
Homeowners and businesses can help their area get access to fiber internet faster by signing up using their service address and sharing the El Campo Fiber website wit neighbors and friends. The more people that band together in support of service in any zone, the quicker it reaches its goal and the build-out can begin! Danevang has demonstrated this process by successfully completing their goal – other neighborhoods can just as easily reach this stage.
