The Young Family Foundation contributed $10,000 in September 2019 in support of the expansion of El Campo Memorial Hospital (ECMH). This was the first of five disbursements toward a $50,000 commitment.
The Foundation’s contribution to ECMH’s once-in-a-generation campaign will help fund the construction costs to enlarge and improve the hospital, transforming the way health care is delivered for current and future residents of El Campo, Wharton County, and Greater Houston.
Plans include significantly increasing the ICU, quadrupling the area available for Diagnostic Imaging Services, and providing a new suite with 10 times the space for Cardiopulmonary Services. The new hospital will also feature a new Hyperbaric/Wound Care Suite, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and Labor and Delivery Suite.

Staff and patients will benefit from the hospital expansion project. “El Campo Memorial Hospital was built 40 years ago and is no longer in the condition to sustain the necessary infrastructure for its staff to deliver services at today’s standards. The new hospital building will be much more efficient in its design layout, allowing staff quicker access to patients, providing better patient services and quality of care. It will also offer more
privacy for patients,” noted Nathan Tudor, CEO of El Campo Memorial Hospital.
Tudor added, “ECMH is grateful to The Young Family Foundation for its support. Many people in future years will benefit from this generosity.”
