W S J T G R O U P

Purpose
: To promote the furtherance of WSJT and to preserve and enhance the use of Meteor Scatter, Weak Signal QSO's, HF JT65A and EME on all VHF / UHF bands. The modes FSK441, JT6M, JT65 and JT44 are all discussed on this reflector. Meteor Scatter Random QSO's are encouraged on recognized calling frequencies of 50.260 & 144.140 MHz.

Reflector:
The reflector is for the Experienced and Novice user of WSJT but this elite group is much more than just an 'egroup'. We encourages the sharing of information that relates to WSJT, Meteor Scatter, weak signal qso's and EME. Members can participate in activities which develop skills while providing enjoyment and camaraderie.

Expectations:
Friendly elmering. All are encouraged to participate... sharing is our motto. The reflector group sponsors the only known "NA Activity Periods” on Saturdays mornings! Members should support & participate in the “Random Hours" , "Fall / Winter Sprints" and the Two Major MS contests. (Contest Winter / Rally Spring)

Volunteers:
The group is moderated by Volunteers. If you can contribute your time & skills towards this groups objectives it would be appreciated. The group moderators are presently N6ENU; WA5UFH; WA3LTB ; N5SIX ; K1SIX ; AJ6T and WB2FKO. (Note several others have assisted at different times with group processes, thanks)

Activities :
The WSJTGROUP sponsors the NAHSMS Contests and maintains the associated webpage. Weekly the WSJTGROUP sponsors the Random Hour Periods and documents the results with a weekly report. The group also sponsors the WSJT Sprints in the Fall / Winter months. The Random QSO Award & Century Grid Awards are offered by the wsjtgroup and certificates are awarded for the meteor scatter contests.

Membership:
There are no fee's and once a station joins his callsign is not removed from the Members Matrix. Membership is open worldwide. An attempt is made to list all the members by call at Matrix of Group Member Callsigns

Why Join
The group sponsors the weekly Random Hour Session and two annual
contests i.e. rallies during two major meteor showers. The group members have a wealth of information & experience to answer questions and discuss questions. Also the WSJT Primer and Random Hour Manuals are provided online for information.

The WSJTGROUP offers two nice Certificates for working 100 Grids ( The Century Grid Award) and the Random QSO Awards (RQA) for working the first 15 Random Contacts during weekly Activity Periods.

The WSJTGROUP has provided databases for members to enter contacts made during meteor showers. The purpose of these records are to document what is possible using HSMS during major meteor showers.

The group also maintains a listing of NA Stations who have been active on the Ping Jockey Page. This database is helpful for identifying potential new grids or stations to work. Membership incluces members from around the world. This allows for sharing of information on a global scale.

There are no dues or fee's except to cover the cost of the CGA and RQA awards.

In the files area of the WSJTGROUP members can find a wealth of information relating to HSMS and EME. Members are also encouraged to view the WSJTGROUP Webpages for new information and announcements.

The email reflector is a "Yahoo Groups" process. New members joining are "moderated" until their posts demonstrate on topic discussions. Every attempt is made to reduce spam an off-topic discussions.
