Meteor Scatter Random Contacts Only "RCO" Contest "Help File" |
|
| This page is for information relating to the Calling
Frequencies for the Spring Rally. This is the first Random Contacts Only (RCO) Contest the WSJTGROUP has sponsored so it is not known if secondary calling frequencies are necessary. Secondary calling frequencies are being provided just in case some find them necessary. Initially all stations should use the Primary Calling Frequencies of 50.260 & 144.140 MHz for calling CQ and listening for stations calling. If a station finds it so congested where it is no longer comfortable using the Primary frequencies then the Secondary Frequencies 50.275 & 144.125 MHz may be used. Most stations should find that using the Primary calling frequencies will provide better results. During periods of "High Acticity" on the Primary Calling Frequencies you might want to monitor the Secondary Frequency if having difficulty finding new contacts. Remember NO CONTACTS are allowed on the Primary or Secondary Calling Frequencies! Choose youroffset frequency carefully so that it doesn't fall on a secondary or primary frequency. i.e. on two meters CQD15 will result in a contact on 144.125 MHz the Secondary Calling Frequency or CQU15 will result in a contact on 50.275 MHz on six meters. The same precautions are necessary when using the Secondary Frequencies. Offsets not to be used for the Primary Calling
Frequency. Offsets not to be used for the Secondary Calling
