XP & Win 2000 Issues: Windows XP is the Ultimate Operating System at this time by Microsoft. However there are a few issues that could give you some problems. With all the "Updates" and the "Service Packs" these may or maynot be a problem for you but if it is, these solutions should help.
1. If after starting XP your com port is
keyed.
Note:In WSJT "Setup" be sure
"Alernate PTT Logic" has NO check mark by it.
Go to Windows Update
Run Windows Update
After you have completed the Updates reboot your computer and the problem should be gone.
If after Updating Your Operating system with the Windows Update the Com Port is still stuck in transmit check the following.
Go to Device Manager
Properties / port settings
Setting that should work for you are listed below:
Bits Per Second = 9600
Data Bits = 8
Parity =None
Stop Bits =1
Flow Control =Xon/Xoff
Advanced Tab
Use FIFO Buffers 16550 UART = checked
2. If your Transmit
Audio is interrupted when online or when you hit your refresh or
back buttons; this should
fix those problems.
Solution 1:
Go to Windows Control Panel
Select Sounds and Audio Devices (if using windows Win 2000 Select Sounds and Multimedia)
Select the Sounds tab
Scroll down to Windows Explorer & find Start Navigation and Complete Navigation
Select "None" for both
Click Apply
Solution #2
Go to Windows Control Panel
Find at top of window "Sound Scheme"
Select "None"
Click Apply
