Local Area Connection (LAN) Configuration – DHCP Configuration
YK Communications’ broadband services typically work through a local area connection (LAN) and require that your computer have an IP Address set in your Networking properties. DHCP is a wonderful protocol that allows your computer to automatically obtain and IP Address, so that you do not have to manually configure an IP Address for each computer on your network.
To ensure that your computer is configured to use DHCP and obtain an IP Address automatically, we have created a set of simple to follow instructions. NOTE: The follow screenshots are for Windows XP
From your Windows Desktop, click "Start"
Click on “Control Panel”
Click on “Network and Internet Connections”
Click on “Local Area Connection”

“Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)”. Double Click
“Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” .
Select "Obtain an IP Address automatically”
Select “Obtain DNS server addresses automatically”
Click the “OK” button
Click the next “OK” button
