Deleting Temporary Internet Files

Along with cookies, your computer may store temporary Internet files to allow previously loaded web pages to load quicker.  These cached files take up space, and Spyware, Adware, and other malicious software can often be found hiding in this folder.  Microsoft has given us a way to delete these temporary Internet files and as a customer of YK Communications, we would like to share the method for deleting temporary Internet files with you.

Temporary Internet files can be deleted by:

1.  Open Internet Explorer

2.  Click on the “Tools” menu located at the top of the window

3.  Click on “Internet Options”

4.  On the “General” tab, you should see a button that says “Delete Files”.  Click “Delete Files”

5.  Another window should pop up.  Place a check in the box labeled “Delete all offline content” and then click “OK”

6.  This will delete all of the Temporary Internet files on your computer.  You can now close the Internet Options window and continue using your computer.

After performing this process, you may notice that website listed in the address bar are gone, usernames or no longer stored at websites, and other various information that was previously stored for you.  Do not be alarmed, this information will come back after you visit the websites again and login to your different Internet accounts.  While this may seem to be an inconvenience, it is not a bad idea to delete your Temporary Internet files from time to time.
